Gratitude Jazz Band
The house band for the UpBeat Café is the Gratitude Jazz Band, which plays locally at parties, weddings, club gigs, etc. Their jazz influences draw from the likes of John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Keith Jarrett, playing show tunes by George Gershwin, Cole Porter, etc. They also love to play more modern music in a variety styles, as well as funky dance music. The band is interested in using music to connect audiences (and themselves) to the spiritual dimension of life, with a very open mind, nurturing whatever is positive and life-affirming on a personal and social level. They are also the house band for jazz worship at the First Presbyterian Church of Corvallis, Oregon.
